The Parish Council has advised:
Day one on Monday 20th July did not go to the plan we were advised would be in place!
* Bridge Road was not manned during the morning peak commute time. Jacksons advised the delay was due to drivers moving and driving through the cones to continue along the B1135. These had to be repositioned, meaning Bridge Road was not manned until 9:11am, resulting in the rat run through Wreningham.
* Bridge Road was unmanned for the majority of the day. The quoted 10hrs was not fulfilled and Jacksons have been asked that this is in place first thing on Tuesday 21st July.
* Despite assurances that all mapping would be updated of the road closure, the B1135 was still showing on Google maps as being open. The Parish Council has asked for this to be updated as a matter of urgency.
* Signage that was on the mapping presented to the Parish Council is not in place despite, being told it would be at the very start of the road closure.
Traffic has, as a result, been travelling up Hethel Road and then having to turn around. Jacksons have been advised that Road Closed signage needs to be in place as a matter of urgency at the Hethel Road/Church Road junction.
* Damage has been caused to trees/Branches/verges on Wymondham Road and Mill Lane.
* Agressive driving and abusive drivers have been reported.
The Parish Council are monitoring the speed of vehicles along Wymondham Road in addition to the volumes. We have comparisons with previous weeks.
We would like to thank local residents for reporting issues throughout today. We would urge that this continues on Tuesday 21st July and any subsequent days that there are issues.
The Parish Council will continue to push for further urgent action if this rat run continues putting the safety of our residents at risk
